OCTOBER 14th at UEL; THE HUMANITY ALLIANCE & PATTERSON THUENTE IP

October 3, 2019

10:30 – 12:30  A  Design Sprint/Hackathon on Disrupting the Status Quo  Part-2 of the 3-Part Series

The Humanity Alliance invites you to a three-part series designed to develop and pilot solutions to address the systemic inequities in Minnesota. These are systems designed to prevent communities from thriving.  The disparities in education, health, housing, and wealth that occur in our state are unacceptable; preventing the state from reaching its true potential.  Our sense of sense of urgency is real, we are taking a risk and trying something new—a design sprint/hackathon focused on disrupting the status quo by applying our collective start-up skills to pilot four new ideas (one every 90 days), testing the potential to “move the needle” in serving our most vulnerable brothers and sisters.

Part 1 of the 3-part series entitled How Did We Get Here? is a panel discussion about what is preventing us from thriving?  “Lurking beneath every goal are dangerous assumptions. The longer those assumptions remain unexamined, the greater the risk.” -Jake Knapp, John Zeratsky & Braden Kowitz, Google Ventures.  NOT AT UEL:  This session will be Friday, Oct 11th 10:00-12:00 at the Wilder Foundation in St. Paul

Part 2 is an open session with coaching for teams to work on their ideas.  AT UEL:  Monday, Oct 14th 10:30-12:30

Part 3 is the final judging of which ideas will move forward into a 90-day pilot.  NOT AT UEL:  Tuesday, Oct 15th 1:00-2:00  Location: TBD

1:00 – 2:00  Realities and Rewards: A Startup’s Guide to Intellectual Property

Please join leading attorneys from Patterson Thuente IP to learn why protecting your IP is so important and how you can use it as your most valuable asset in a technology, life sciences, or healthcare startup.
