Minnesota Walking Meetup – A friendly group, with walks at a moderate pace.  No kiddos or pets, just adult people.  Meet new walking buddies and explore parks and natural areas in the Twin Cities metro area.  With over 7,000 members, you are certain to make new friends, and perhaps run into old ones.  Many organized events; Nordic walking, birding hikes, local park trails, or Meetup designed this platform to make it easy for you to set up your own walks; determine a day/time, decide on a location, how to meet, and post the information on the Walking Meetup home page.  https://www.meetup.com/walkers-575/

St. Paul Hiking Club – Since 1921, the St Paul Hiking Club has been a valuable and unique asset to the people of the St. Paul area.  If you enjoy the outdoors, like viewing scenery, the progression of local architecture, and want to share the company with others who desire staying physically fit, our club may be right for you (minimum age is 18 years old).  This is your invitation and there is no fee for guests.  These folks party and recognize one another’s birthdays.  Hikes are scheduled for every Sunday afternoon.  https://www.stpaulhike.com/

Can We Talk?

Minnesota Psychological Association – supports walk-in counseling centers providing free mental health services every weekday.  Any person who needs mental health counseling right away, with no appointment necessary, for free, can get services in Minneapolis and Saint Paul every weekday.  There are no barriers to service here – no fees, no copays, no sliding scale. Clients can even remain anonymous if they wish.  Locations in Minneapolis and St. Paul.   https://walkin.org/

Student Mental Health – Confidential individual and group counseling can be a helpful way to address problems related to life stress, academic difficulties, career concerns, and personal concerns such as relational difficulties or depression. A counselor will not try to “fix” your problems or make you do anything. Escape to a Stay-Cation

Como Park Zoo & Conservatory – Como Park Zoo & Conservatory is free and open to newcomers and frequent visitors alike all year long.  Operated by the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Department, the zoo features a seal island, a large cat exhibit, a variety of aquatic life, primates, birds, African hoofed animals and a world class polar bear exhibit.  The Marjorie McNeely Conservatory has two acres under glass with a number of different wings dedicated to a variety of plant life including bonsai trees, ferns, orchids and seasonal flowers.  Both are open year-round and are great escapes in winter.  https://comozooconservatory.org/
