Kerry began as a dairy and ingredients plant in Listowel, Ireland in 1972 and has grown to become the industry’s leading provider of technology-based ingredients and solutions for all sectors of the food, beverage and pharmaceutical markets.
In 2015, Kerry acquired the functional food ingredient, Wellmune®, from Biothera (Eagan, MN) as part of their nutrition and wellness ingredient portfolio. Wellmune is a natural food, beverage and supplement ingredient composed of yeast beta 1,3/1,6 glucan that is clinically proven to help strengthen the immune system making it easier for people of all ages to be well and stay well. This talk will discuss the scientific support for Wellmune’s claims of immune support and provide a general background on the field of yeast beta glucan biology.
