Minnesota-based medical devices coating company Harland Medical Systems has raised $220,000, according to a recent regulatory filing.

The money raised was through a combination of debt and options. The company, which provides coating services to enhance medical device surfaces, wants to raise another $25,000.

Founded in 2003, Harland Medical was a tenant at the University Enterprise Laboratories before graduating from the incubator. The company’s products include hydrophilic coatings that reduce friction and allow catheters and guide wires to navigate through complex anatomies. Harland also provides antimicrobial coatings designed to reduce hospital infections.

The company has raised money since 2006 and has raised roughly $5 million, based on regulatory filings.
